Beyond the URL – Charul Ajmera

This wacky, no hassle girl blogs here. We seldom come across humble people on the internet. I was glad to get to exchange a few mails and strike a lovely conversation with her. 🙂

Like her Blog’s caption her recipes are definitely easy and make you feel in the comfort of home. She has a really bright and inspiring home page too. Do show her some love.

Thank you for taking time to write about yourself.

  • Who is the person behind the blog? Tell us something about yourself.

Heya, this is Charul, the face behind Tadka Masala. I am a debt market executive in the weekdays and everything else on the weekends.

  • Take us through your blog journey.

I started cooking two years back. I use to surf internet for recipes and tweak them in my own way. Along the way I fell in love with cooking. So, then there came a time when I was dreaming about food and more like cooking food. So that was the start of Tadka Masala. That was about a year ago.

  • Share the most proud moment as a blogger.

Believe me or not. But every time I see a comment on the blog it is a proud moment for me. But the most proud moment was when I recently posted my 50th post. I was thinking “so, you finally did it”! 😀

  • What are your tips to keep a blog worthy of it’s followers?

Stay connected. If a reader leaves you a comment which is like two words, still never miss to reply to that reader.

Second, never post other people’s work without taking permission or at least give the due credit. And NEVER claim it to be yours.

  • What are your other interests that keep you sane?

I love dancing, art & craft, reading (only fictions!) other than cooking. But as far as keeping me sane is considered only day dreaming can do the trick. Yep, I am a big time day dreamer.

  • What kind of food the family appreciates? Does it affect the content on the blog?

To tell you the truth, I have a family which appreciates whatever I cook. Ain’t I blessed? Yeah! But, yes we love simple home cooked meals most of the time and yes it does effect the content of the blog.

  • How do you promote your blog?

Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I am there on Pinterest too, but not that active there. Other than these I jump on every opportunity to participate in blogging events.

  • List out your top 5 favourite blogs that you love to follow [Should include 2 Indian Bloggers]

You mean apart from yours right? Because otherwise I would not have been answering these questions. 😛

  • Chef in You
  • Veggie Belly
  • I am baker
  • The Picky Eater
  • Veg Recipes of India
  •  Do you sometimes feel that you will not be able to blog after “X” Years/months? If yes, how do you deal with it?

No, in fact I feel the opposite that I will be able to blog more as and when I will start getting more time.

  • Final Question on personal effects:

Favourite cuisine – Italian (pastas & breads), Indian (chaats –  slurrp!) and a bit of Chinese too. Clearly, I cannot zero down on one, not in this life! 😀

TV Show – I am a TV addict, so even get me started there. But my all timefav is Friends.

Book – Harry Potter series and alike.

Beverage – Sweet Lime Water & Buttermilk.

Birthday – 6th April

Film – Any romantic comedic (diehard fan of those), animated movies

Music genre – Bollywood music – from the loud over the top to ghazals. I am a Hindi music lover, totally.

Gadget – I know it’s not a gadget but I will not be able to work without a chopping board. And I cannot do without my phone also.

My purse must have – Lip balm, kajal (whether I use them or not!) & my earphones.

One habit I am proud of – That while I am in the kitchen I keep washing my hands.

Be the fabulous self that you are.

Cheers,
