Strawberry Chocolate cake- Part2

Today we come to the end of this Mega Marathon ๐Ÿ™‚ It was really wonderful to be a part of this crazy gang of girls who love their food.

I made this another version of the most awesome cake ๐Ÿ™‚ I used puree and shards in the batter and a glaze on top. It was a marriage made in heaven.

Week- 4

Theme- Crafts/Misc

Dish for Day โ€“ Cake

You shall need: [Makes about 2 cakes]

For the cake-

1.5 cup… All purpose Flour

1/3 cup… Cocoa powder

1/2 tsp… Baking powder

2.. Large eggs

1/2 tsp… Baking Soda

1/2 cup… Butter milk

1/2 cup… Butter

A pinch of salt

3/4 cup… Castor Sugar

1/2 cup… Strawberry puree

1/4 cup… Chopped strawberries

Method:

  • Heat oven to 180C.
  • Beat sugar and butter until nice and fluffy.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt.
  • Add 1/3 of the dry ingredient and an egg to the batter.
  • Alternate with flour, egg and butter milk.
  • Using a spatula, mix in the strawberry puree and shards.
  • Pour in 2 lined baking moulds.
  • Bake for 25 min or until the skewer comes out clean.
  • Let it cool on the rack.
  • Make holes in the cake using a skewer that shall help to drink up the glaze.

For the Glaze-

1/2 cup… Strawberry puree

1/3 cup.. Sugar

Method:

  • Heat the strawberry and sugar in a heavy bottom pan.
  • Let it thicken properly.
  • Once done, pour spoon by spoon over the cakes.
  • The cake shall drink this up beautifully.
